Definition & Standard

The amber AB series includes two technical specifications:

—Pc-Amber (Blue light chip + phosphor hybrid luminescence)

—De-Amber (Amber chip direct luminescence)

The dominant wavelength is available in two specifications: 590–595 nm and 600–605 nm, both compliant with the U.S. DLC V6.0 standard.

Human-Centric Lighting (HCL)

Compared with conventional white, cool white, and warm white LEDs, amber light exhibits a significantly lower melatonin suppression rate, effectively avoiding circadian rhythm disruption caused by nocturnal light exposure.

At the physiological level, an amber light environment helps to reduce cortisol levels, resting heart rate, and alertness, while suppressing sympathetic nerve activity—allowing the body to remain in a relaxed state during nighttime hours.

Additionally, the amber light spectrum contains no high-energy short-wavelength blue light components. When the pupil naturally dilates at night, it effectively prevents blue light from penetrating the lens and causing retinal damage, delivering gentle eye protection.

Application in landscape lighting

Compared with conventional 2700K–3000K warm-white lighting products, these fixtures emit a more orange-red hue, creating a visual atmosphere reminiscent of a natural campfire and offering a more comfortable and immersive visual experience for courtyards, homestays, and outdoor commercial spaces.

Applications in Ecological Lighting

The core value of amber-colored products in ecological lighting is particularly evident in their contribution to ecological conservation.

Traditional coastal lighting contains blue light components and provides high illuminance, which can mislead juvenile sea turtles toward land, leading to dehydration, predation, or death; in contrast, amber-colored products avoid this interference at the source of the light spectrum.

The short-wavelength components in conventional lighting spectra can disrupt bird migration orientation, circadian rhythms, and foraging behavior. In contrast, the amber light series emits long-wavelength yellow light that causes far less visual stimulation to birds than traditional white light. It neither interferes with avian circadian rhythms nor attracts insects that are drawn to short-wavelength light, thereby preserving the integrity of the local food chain structure.。

At the level of benthic organisms and underwater ecosystems, the blue light component in conventional white LEDs penetrates water bodies with high intensity, readily inducing phototactic aggregation of plankton, which in turn alters species density and foraging behavior in localized waters. Amber light products, by contrast, exhibit shallower penetration depth in water and significantly reduced attraction to plankton, effectively minimizing light disturbance to the normal activities of benthic invertebrates, juvenile fish, and microbial communities.

In coastal areas of sea turtle nesting habitats such as Florida, USA, local regulations explicitly require that all artificial light sources directed toward the beach during the nesting season must switch to amber-colored light with long wavelengths. In ecologically sensitive areas—including several U.S. coastal states, parts of the Caribbean region, and Queensland, Australia—amber lighting is being progressively incorporated into local guidelines or project approval conditions.
